Street Style; Carry Summer Stripes into Autumn

In my world, nautical stripes define Summer. Sun, sand, sea; you get the blue and white stripy picture, don’t you? This week my alarm clock’s slap of reality was accompanied by two unwelcome visitors; chilly air and darkness.

Katie Holmes

I love Autumn but I’m not ready to surrender Summer, yet. And I bet you aren’t either. Here are a few styling tips to carry your favorite coloured stripes into the next season. Katie Holmes replaced summer sandals with neutral suede ankle boots; keeping the look light but the feeling warmer.

Heidi Klum

Heidi Klum anchored her black and off-white dress with this season’s must-have; the leather biker jacket.

Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde did the same with her black & white chevron pattern; adding a leather chain bag and sneakers. Love the sneakers.

Jordana Brewster

Jordana Brewster kept the look simple with black skinnies, a leather shopper and two-toned ballet pumps. Chic.

Rose Byrne

Rose Byrne opted for a classic look with blue denim, a neutral jacket and black heels. When in doubt, simple always wins.

Rosie Huntington Whitely

If you’re feeling braver, take inspiration from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who accessorised with a leopard print scarf, successfully mixing prints. I wonder if she purposely kept the handbag small so not to detract from those killer roll ‘n roll boots.

Dianna Agron

Diana Agron threw the kitchen sink at us here. Everything works and I love it.

Hope you’re inspired to add an interesting twist to a summer wardrobe basic. C’mon Autumn, I say!

So, how are you planning to take summer into the next season?

love & light
